The spotlight is once again on Team USA as five gymnasts secured their spots for the U.S. women’s gymnastics team at the 2024 Paris Olympics during the U.S. Gymnastics Olympic Trials in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Meet The Gymnasts Heading to Paris
The women representing Team USA this year include seasoned Olympians Jordan Chiles, Jade Carey, Suni Lee, and Simone Biles, along with newcomer Hezly Rivera.
Biles, who has already made history with her ninth U.S. all-around title this month, will lead the squad in her third Olympic appearance. Her exemplary performance during the trials earned her the top spot.
Newcomer Hezly Rivera
Sixteen-year-old Hezly Rivera, from New Jersey, stands out as the team’s youngest member. This marks her first Olympic appearance.They are my number one support system and always supporting me in life and in school. They are always there for everything and I couldn’t be more grateful.
This sentiment reflects the essential role her parents have played in her journey.

Joining them as alternates are Joscelyn Roberson and Leanne Wong, both of whom displayed strong performances during the trials.

Trials and Tribulations
The trials were intense with more than a dozen top U.S. female gymnasts vying for selection. Injuries cornered some athletes including Skyle Blakely and Kayla DiCello, both of whom had to withdraw.
Shilese Jones faced an injury scare during vault practice but managed to earn the highest score on bars during Day 1 despite leg issues.
