Yellowstone, one of Paramount Network’s most popular shows, will return with the second half of its fifth and final season on November 10. The series, now back in production in Montana after a long hiatus since January 2023, has been a staple for fans across the globe, especially those excited to see how it concludes.
Kevin Costner, who portrayed patriarch John Dutton from 2018 to 2023, has been more vocal about his departure and future with the series while promoting his new project, Horizon: An American Saga. During an interview, he reflected on his journey with the show: I’ll do it for three seasons, and I ended up doing it for five.

While discussing his time on Yellowstone, Costner shared his frustrations regarding the hiatus period: There was a moment where that show for me stopped for 14 months… That’s the fact. I could have done a lot of things in that time, but I wasn’t aware that that [hold-up] was going to happen.

Regarding a potential return to Yellowstone, Costner mentioned his ongoing discussions with co-creator Taylor Sheridan. He conveyed, Taylor and I know what the conditions are for coming back.
However, he also hinted at challenges that could make such a return difficult: If we can’t get to it, it’s because at the end of the day, it’s unreasonable for them or something.
