The best part about The Late Late Show With James Corden is that the show’s loose and relaxed nature allows actors, musicians, and all kinds of celebrities to let their guard down and do something they might not typically do. On last night’s show, it was Pride and Prejudice and Zombies‘ Lily James, Angie Tribeca‘s Rashida Jones, and Will & Grace alum Sean Hayes teaming up with James Corden and Reggie Watts to beatbox, and oh man, was it fun to watch.
The beatboxing happened after James Corden let Reggie Watts ask one of the guests a final question of the night, which he does in pretty much every episode. But instead of asking a single one of them about philosophy, the universe, or the meaning of life (from the times I’ve seen The Late Late Show, Watts can get hilariously deep), the band leader proposed that they all do a “really, fun, ill jam” together.
When all three guest agreed, Watts came over with microphones for himself, Corden, Lily James, Rashida Jones, and Sean Hayes, and he then instructed the four of them on what he wanted them to do. With all their voices working together, they were able to create quite an “ill jam,” and all five of them seem to be having a great time, particularly Lily James who put on Reggie Watts’ sunglasses before she began beatboxing.
