2016 People’s Choice Awards: Castle, Big Bang Theory, and Outlander Win Big

People's Choice Awards

It was a good night to be an actor from Castle or The Big Bang Theory at the 2016 People’s Choice Awards. Jane Lynch hosted the event, which aired on Wednesday night on CBS, and in the major network TV categories, Big Bang, Castle, and Grey’s Anatomy won the most awards. Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic took home the top prizes for Favorite TV Crime Drama Actor and Actress; Grey’s Anatomy won for Favorite Network TV Drama, along with Ellen Pompeo being awarded Favorite Dramatic TV Actress; and Big Bang Theory won Favorite Network TV Comedy, Favorite Comedic TV Actor for Jim Parsons’ performance, and Favorite TV Show.

When it came to the cable TV winners, the awards were more evenly spread, with Ballers, Homeland, and It’s Always Sunny all winning in certain categories. However, it was Outlander that took home the most prizes for a cable show, winning the awards for Favorite Cable TV Sci-Fi/Fantasy Show and Favorite TV Sci-Fi/Fantasy Actress for Caitriona Balfe’s work as Claire.
